Making a website, involves the following steps:
- Registration of the domainname
- Webhosting
- Layout
- Texts and pictures
Registration of the domainname.
A check should be done if the domainname is still available, and if the name is copyrighted by others. The website must be registered on the name of the client, to avoid problems with the ownership in the future. The costs for a domain name starts at 10 Euro per year.
Webhosting
The domain name is only active after buying webhosting. Without hosting the site will not be accessible. The site is allocated on the server of the webhosting company, and can be reached 24 hours a day throughout the whole. The average costs for good webhosting services starts at 35 Euro a year.
Layout
How should the site look and what you can do with it? In other words, how is the structure? This is partly a matter of taste, but is largely determined by the functionality. The structure of the site is determined by a table of contents (index). Should I opt for multiple languages? What colors do I use? Once you have decided on these issues, you can calculate the number of pages.
Texts and pictures/video's
Most important for the quality of a website is the presence of sufficient, unique and relevant text. Never duplicate or copy text from other websites, and avoid mistakes in the spelling. Text should preferably be provided by the client, but we can also write texts. Photos and/or video presentations make the website complete.
